Although I have resided on Maui for over 23 years, my heart still lies in my hometown of Niteroi in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.
While vacationing in Niteroi with my daughter and mother it was important to ensure I spend time at my favorite places that I fondly remember growing up.

Itacoatiara Beach is located at Regiao Oceanica in Niteroi. My young teen years were spent here with such amazing memories. A surfers paradise, Regiao Oceanica is where you can find a real diverse crowd, the young trendy nomads and of course the perfectly bronzed golden generation . It’s 2,550 feet long (850 meters) and with another little beach 20 meters long. Should you choose to take a break from the stunning beaches there are plenty of walking and hiking trails. The surrounding sites are so serene that they will take your breath away. The two rock mountains Costao and Pampo are so unique, be sure to have your camera ready!

Praia Brava, a great 35 minute hike. My fave surf spot in Arraial do Cabo. Wearing Manifest tee by @makenacollection Makena Collection

Another place that holds a very special place in my heart is Arraial do Cabo, a coastal town in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Arrailal do Cabo is known for its white-sand beaches, surf spots, and boat rides that take you to exclusive amazing clear water untouched beaches. When I was younger my mother used to rent this beach house every holiday and I used to invite many friends to go with me to enjoy this special place.
THIS PLACE IS A MUST!

Another beach that I absolutely love is Ipanema ( post 09). By far the busiest and the most eclectic spot that attracts such a diverse crowd. As you may know the famous song “The girl of Ipanema ” bossa nova song was written by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes derives from here, of course.
Cristo redentor – Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa.

I recommend visiting the Salt fields at Praia Seca- Araruama , once a thriving industry that helped the locals and the economy. With so much history and uniqueness we decided to shoot a few of our newest pieces from our Mesa Collection.
